Supplier Production Disruption

October 4, 2026 by Jeff

Supplier Production Disruption – An unwanted situation but can be mitigated from the support of Monzite Corporation with the Functional Molded Multi-Chip Module (FMMCM) services.

If you are impacted by these two main interruptions, check with Monzite on how to help you to navigate your mitigation plans.

Nexperia – Netherland site disruption by the Dutch Government.

Below electronics components have been impacted:

  • MOSFET
  • Diodes
  • Bipolar transistors
  • Logic ICs
  • Power semiconductor devices

Although these are not leading-edge AI chips, they are essential “building-block” components used in:

  • Automotive electronics
  • Industrial controls
  • Power supplies
  • Consumer electronics
  • Telecommunications equipment

The biggest concerns were potential shortages of discrete semiconductors used in my industries products, higher prices, and longer qualification cycles for alternate components.  This could create a nightmare for OEMs and EMS.

The old TI Sherman wafer fab is being shut down

The facility being phased out is TI’s older 150mm (6-inch) wafer production operation. The shutdown is part of a multi-year strategy to retire older, less efficient fabs in both Dallas and Sherman.  They are replacing the old 150mm wafer to 300mm wafer, which is good news for the electronics industries, but the qualifications requirements from the OEMs/EMS could increase the burden and disruption of production flow.

If you are using these components below from T.I. be prepared for the disruption:

  • Analog ICs
  • Power-management ICs
  • Signal chain devices
  • Microcontrollers
  • Automotive electronics components

With FMMCM technologies, Monzite can modularize your electronics components on the PCBAs and can protect your production flow, mitigate the unwanted disruption, AOS (Assurance of Supply) goals and preventing any potential production line down.
