Monzite and eComp Team-up to Serve Defense, Aerospace and Medical Technology Industries
Companies will collaborate on sourcing and testing components for legacy systems.
Nashua, NH and Framingham, MA – May, 2015 – Monzite Corp. and eComp today announced a new agreement to collaborate on sourcing and testing services for aerospace, defense and medical technology companies that need hard-to-find replacement electronic components for important legacy systems.
While consumer electronics evolve in a matter of months, major defense, aerospace and medical systems like fighter jets, submarines or MRI scanners are built to operate for decades. Over time, it becomes harder to find replacement parts from tiny chips to larger electronic assemblies needed to keep the systems running. Sourcing these so-called “gray market” components, or when necessary re-engineering parts, is an increasing need for the companies, institutions and government agencies that rely on mission-critical legacy systems.
“Serving these industries together is a great fit for us,” said David Robbins, CEO of Monzite. “eComp is well known and respected as a sourcing and authentication house, and at Monzite we have the experience and capabilities to build and test microelectric components for demanding environments.”
The new multi-year collaboration agreement between the two companies will leverage each company’s core strengths to better serve their customers, said Richard Nadeau, eComp Founder and President. “We are looking forward to growing our relationship with Monzite,” he added. “Sometimes, products are simply not available, so with Monzite’s capacity to re-engineer, build and test new parts to military standards, we broaden our solutions for customers.”
An ISO 9001:2008 and ITAR certified company based in Nashua, NH, Monzite is an advanced contract manufacturer that specializes in RF/microwave assemblies with chip & wire and surface mount components, high frequency electronics and sensors. The company offers design support services to help engineers develop new products and optimize for manufacturability. Monzite’s Impellimax division designs and builds PIN Diode, GaAs, GaN and SiC drivers, linearizers, hybrids and other components.
Based in Framingham, Massachusetts, eComp is a distributor and authenticator of products for the military, aerospace, medical and industrial marketplace. eComp is certified AS9120A, ISO9001-2008 and ITAR among others. eComp is also a leader in product authentication, which is a major and growing concern for gray market products. “There is an increasing amount of counterfeit products on the market,” Nadeau said. “When you are serving the military, you have to be absolutely sure that the components you are putting into systems are authentic and work as designed.”
Under the new agreement, eComp will serve as a distributor for the Impellimax product line and partner with Monzite on re-engineering and manufacturing solutions for specific customer needs. Monzite will also provide environmental screening and functionality testing services for eComp as needed.
“We’ve already launched our first project together,” Robbins said. “eComp had a customer who needed parts that were not available. So we re-engineered it, got the right die, and are building and testing the components to the 883 military standard.”
